Our seminar is for family members who are caring for their elderly loved ones. Many
of these caregivers feel isolated and alone and do not know where to turn for help
with the day-to-day issues involved in caregiving. Our goal is to help family
caregivers recognize the signs of burnout and to be proactive in setting goals to
cope with it. With community resources, support groups, long-term care
alternatives, legal support and financial strategies, families can equip themselves Topics covered include: WHY: Even though there are many community resources available to them, many families
fail to avail themselves of those resources for various reasons… caregiver guilt,
isolation, lack of financial resources, fear of letting go or fear of the unknown.
Caregivers who don’t get enough support often burnout and begin to encounter WHO: Renee Reeves, a long term care consultant who has worked with Alzheimer's and dementia patients for over 10 years, will be presenting ideas and strategies intended to help caregivers deal with the stresses involved with caring for elderly loved ones.
