Press Release Summary = Archbishop Gary Beaver has been awarded the approval of the Old Catholic Church of Great Britain and all member churches of the Free Catholic Church of Europe Communion, to commence his project without delay and with every support of those churches in the Old Catholic Communion.

Press Release Body = Around the world, in over 40 countries, our brothers and sisters face persecution for their faith in Jesus Christ. They’re not heroes or statistics, they’re our Christian family. Our persecuted brothers and sisters do not have to suffer in silence, we can join in their trials and triumphs as co-workers in Christ.

Archbishop Gary stated “so many men and women are in prisons serving sentences that range from a few months to life. They are not criminals who have murdered or robbed, but Christians who have been put on trial for their faith in Christ and found guilty. It would have been easy to avoid prison by simply denying their Christian faith. These brothers and sisters in Christ are literally “doing hard time for God.”

To launch the project, the Old Catholic Church of Great Britain will dedicate a segment of its website www.oldcatholic.co.uk to publish trial details and prison contact addresses for those “doing hard time for God” enabling concerned supporters to write and enter into the fellowship of sufferings with these Christian prisoners. You will join in “doing hard time for God” by sharing His burden for those who
suffer for His sake.

It is an important ministry for any member of the church to raise the global awareness of just how many Christians are being persecuted in this modern day world” said Archbishop Gary, “ many believe that persecution of Christians ended with Ceasar and the lions, but this project will change that”.

For many of these prisoners, the future is bleak, being imprisoned in a non-Christian environment with non-Christian inmates and guards, living by pure faith. Just imagine what your letter would mean, to know that someone was aware of your plight, and the prayerful words of a brother or sister in Christ.

The Christian NGO, OSMTH Magistral Grand Priory of the Holy Lands has joined the project and is presently lobbying the United Nations for their aid and support.

Archbishop Gary Beaver closed the Project Launch ceremony with the biblical quote “I was in prison, and you came to me” —-Jesus (Matthew 25:36).
