Black Diamond Living Magazine Profiles Three Sisters Who Have Succeeded (and Thrived) in Traditionally Male Oriented Careers

Released on = August 30, 2006, 12:00 am

Press Release Author = Paula Barker

Industry = Law

Press Release Summary = Olivia Moore-Wraa, owner of We The People Concord and
Brentwood branches, and Fire Dept. Pumper Truck Operator, is featured with her two
sisters, a Pilot and a Dentist, in a respected Bay Area magazine

Press Release Body = Concord, CA – for immediate release – The August/September
issue of Black Diamond Living Magazine has published an article featuring Olivia
Moore-Wraa and her sisters, all in professions traditionally dominated by men.

The article describes how Moore-Wraa, owner of the Concord branch of We The People
for several years, and new owner of the Brentwood store, has been volunteering for
the Oakland Fire Department for 17 years. She drives the pumper truck loaded with
500 gallons of water plus hoses and tools. “[Once] at the scene, she connects the
hoses to hydrants, monitors a plethora of gauges and makes sure everything is in
place outside, while firefighters quell the blaze inside.”

Black Diamond Living Magazine further explains that Wraa-Moore’s sisters, Paula
Moore Roemer and Jewel Moore Beaman, are a dentist and a pilot, respectively, both
in their fields almost twenty years.

All accomplish their careers while married and raising children—the proverbial
superwomen.

Black Diamond Living Magazine has been in circulation since March, 2004, and is
targeted for the East Bay Area reader—the active consumer who lives, plays and works
in East Contra Costa and select nearby cities, especially those near the Black
Diamond Mines Regional Preserve, the magazine’s namesake. The preserve is considered
an East Bay gem located in what is called Black Diamond country. BDL aims to provide
a glossy, cutting-edge publication with a rich, sophisticated and accessible
editorial mix of information and entertainment.

The article introducing Wraa-Moore and her sisters can be viewed online by visiting

The hard-copy magazine is still available at Bay Area Barnes & Noble and Borders
Books branches.
