The line includes inch dimension, radial, angular contact, and thrust ball bearings. Standard series bearings can be customized to include many features that can satisfy the demands of special applications. They are available with special bores, modified outer ring shapes, extended inner rings, locking devices, and flanged housings. According to Doug Werner, Sr. Product Manager for Nice™, “Nice™ makes a variety of special ball bearings that are used in applications varying from high temperatures to corrosive environments. For example, we produce a heat stabilized bearing used in the glass making industry, where temperatures reach 600°F. It is designed to withstand the constant high temperature operating conditions, significantly extending the customers service life of this bearing when compared to its original design. We also manufacture a number of specialty bearings that have molded urethane tires on the OD for use in inspecting and conveying equipment. Not many companies are interested in working with molded over urethane tires because design and the material can vary widely, depending on the application. Engineers from Nice™ are always looking for new and different materials to help extend the life of the product, with overall customer satisfaction in mind.”
