Hillary Clinton oldest Democrat in any open White House race since Samuel Tilden

Released on: November 19, 2007, 3:36 pm

Press Release Author: Nikki Oldaker/Show Biz East Productions

Industry: Government

Press Release Summary: At age 61 next year, Hillary Clinton would be the oldest
Democratic presidential nominee since Harry Truman, who was 63 in 1948. Clinton also
would be the oldest Democrat in any open White House race since Samuel Tilden, who
was 62 in 1876.

Press Release Body: Author Nikki Oldaker is planning a visit to the New Hampshire
primary vote battle ground to expose her book and personally sign her new book
\"Samuel Tilden, the Real 19th President.\" She did not realize until today that
Hillary and Tilden had anything in common beyond being Democrats. Tilden did not
believe in high taxes and it would have been an arguable issue he certainly would
have disagreed with Mrs. Clinton and other front runner nominees about.

Samuel Jones Tilden born February 9, 1814 was the Democratic candidate for the U.S.
presidency in the disputed election of 1876, the most controversial American
election of the 19th century. A political reformer, he was a Bourbon Democrat who
worked closely with the New York City business community, led the fight against the
corruption of Tammany Hall, and fought to keep taxes low.

Of Tilden\'s fortune (estimated at $6,000,000) approximately $4,000,000 was
bequeathed for the establishment and maintenance of a free public library and
reading-room in the City of New York. The Tilden Trust was combined with the Astor
and Lenox libraries to found the New York Public Library, whose building bears his
name on its front entrance.

Plans are being discussed to have other Independent political history writers join
her on the trip to New Hampshire. Regular updates on the Author\'s travel and book
signings can be found on her Tilden web site: www.SamuelTilden.com
