After taking a brief hiatus after the birth of her first daughter, owner Gerritt
Whittaker is ready to take on the paper world with a whole new perspective.
“Becoming a mom has left me refreshed and rejuvenated,” she says. “And it’s also
given way to a rebirth of Polka Dot Papers.”

Gerritt founded Polka Dot Papers in March of 2004, after owning her own invitation
boutique in Little Rock. “It really piqued my interest in starting my own
wholesale business,” she says, “so I sold the store and launched Polka Dot
Papers.” Begun in Gerritt’s living room, the line debuted at the National
Stationery Show in the same year, and is now available in more than 250 stores
nationwide.

What differentiates Polka Dot Papers from other stationery lines is the original
artwork that graces every design, as well as the wide range of styles Gerritt’s
designs represent. Artists from the Little Rock and Dallas areas created custom
paintings and drawings for every occasion, which are beautifully reproduced on
high-quality stock. Many invitations are embellished with ribbons and other
decorations, running the gamut from fun and funky to formal and elegant. As Gerritt
has been known to say, “Too much of a good thing is wonderful.”

Albums of Polka Dot Papers designs are available at a wide range of retail
partners, and invitations are available custom printed or as blank stock. For more
