Press Release Summary: The original Hip Hop Hall of Fame Awards returns with an induction ceremony, awards show, commemorative DVD, and reunion concert.

TRU Books is once again at the forefront in bringing real-life Hip Hop and street stories to life in print. TRU Books is in the final stages of negotiations with L.A. gang truce alliance co-founder and Hip Hop Hall of Fame Awards (HHHOF) television show executive producer, J.T. Thompson. The book will tell the real story behind the L.A. riots and the subsequent L.A/Watts gang truce that included his partner in the struggle, Daude Sherrills. The motion picture movie \"Redemption\" starring Oscar award winner Jamie Foxx playing the character Stanley \"Tookie\" Williams, Crip gang founder, is a small reflection of the \"TRU-Story\". The new book will tell the story of a visionary leader who risked his life to rebuild the city of Los Angeles and rid it of its severe gang problems. Eventually, the crime rates were lowered in L.A., former gang members helped to rebuild the Hollywood Sear\'s Store, and they learned new life skills and created new businesses.

About writer and creator, JT Thompson

As one of the main co-founders of the historical 1992 L.A. gang truce alliance, HHHOF producer J.T. Thompson took the lead in bridging community, private, and public works and socio-economic development projects during and after the L.A. Riots. He co-managed the use of former gang members to rebuild the Hollywood Sear\'s Department Store, and the efforts helped to bring about the national multi-billion dollar \"Empowerment Zones\" in L.A. With his efforts, he helped reduced crime rates, created job and business opportunities, transformed the landscape of urban centers around the country including the brand new Harlem, USA. He is the forgotten Hip Hop and L. A. Times Hero. The Hip Hop Hall of Fame Museum Foundation and HHHOF Global Media has worked with Hip Hop artists, athletes, and community leaders including the likes of Jesse Jackson, Minister Farrakhan, Chuck D, Russell Simmons, Gang-Truce & Intervention Agencies, First AME Church, Maxine Waters, Congresswoman Diane Watson, the NAACP, BET\'s Jeff Johnson, and the Congressional Black Caucus.
