Caldwell Economic Development Commission Launches `Project Homefront`

Released on: September 29, 2008, 9:28 am

Press Release Author: CaldwellEDC.org

Industry: Small Business

Press Release Summary: Caldwell Economic Development Commission helps local
businesses to take advantage of existing resources in their own backyard with
Project Homefront, a comprehensive business retention expansion program.

Press Release Body: Lenoir, NC -- In addition to attracting out-of-state businesses
to Caldwell County NC with economic development grants, NC relocation incentives and
business relocation services, Caldwell Economic Development Commission is helping
local businesses take advantage of existing resources in their own backyard with
Project Homefront, a comprehensive business retention expansion program.

Previously done by volunteers, Project Homefront garners the talents of the staff of
the Commission and the Chamber of Commerce to visit with 2,000 businesses in
Caldwell County NC and find out if any of their needs or problems, such as supply
chain issues, can be solved by neighboring businesses.

"Our goal," explained Alan Wood, the commission's senior development manager, "is to
help businesses run efficiently by taking advantage of local resources whenever
possible. This scenario leads to economic growth and more jobs, thereby increasing
North Carolina employment figures."
