The Maynard launches glam rock season

Released on: September 15, 2008, 9:21 am

Press Release Author: BeyondPR

Industry: Food & Beverage

Press Release Summary: The Maynard’s ballroom will be transformed into a glam rock
club this autumn and winter, with a series of 70s glam rock nights planned to get
the dance floor buzzing!

Press Release Body: On 1 November, Hollywood Flairz take to the stage with their
unique take on the 1970s. With hits from The Sweet, Slade, T-Rex, The Arrows,
Showaddywaddy, Suzi Quatro, The Bay City Rollers and many more, Hollywood Flairz is
a night not to be missed. Whether you are old enough to remember the original 70s
bands, or young enough to wish you could remember them, this will be an evening of
huge hair and 70s rock anthems.

22 November sees the return of ABBA Revival. After a great debut at The Maynard
earlier this year, the Swedish quartet (from Chesterfield!) will be back strutting
their Waterloo, Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen magic in pursuit of the perfect night
out. If you missed ABBA on tour before they split up, this has to be the next best
thing.

6 December is Stones night. The Stoned Angels to be precise. With a sound and a look
that is scarily close to the real thing, The Stoned Angels won’t disappoint any Mick
Jagger fans.

All three events are in association with South Yorkshire Entertainment and cost £30
including a three course restaurant quality meal. A bar will be available and the
acts will all finish in good time for you to catch the last train back to Sheffield
from Grindleford station. For further information and bookings call Charlotte on
01433 630321.
Paul Downing, director of The Maynard, said: “ABBA Revival played here earlier in
the year and went down a storm. We would like these events to be a regular feature
at The Maynard so if you are a fan of the 70s or just enjoy any excuse to let your
hair down, you will be more than welcome.”

Group discounts and room discounts may be available for these events, subject to
availability. Call 01433 630321 for details.
