The Maynard to host charity fashion show

Released on: September 15, 2008, 9:39 am

Press Release Author: BeyondPR

Industry: Food & Beverage

Press Release Summary: The Maynard boutique hotel and restaurant is to host
Sheffield Newspapers’ 2008 Autumn/Winter Charity Fashion Show on Thursday 25
September. The beneficiary charity will be Macmillan Cancer Care.

Press Release Body: Leading representatives of Sheffield’s fashion community will
assemble at The Maynard for lunch to see what’s hot and what’s not when it comes to
the new styles and colours for the remainder of 2008 and early 2009. Fashion houses
showing off their ranges will include Choola, Jaz, Harpers;
Alice Through The Looking Glass; Franks; Alex Kemp; and Tula.

The event starts at 12.30. Tickets cost £25.00 and include lunch and entry to the
fashion show. This event is open to members of the public and tickets are available
direct from Melinda Gore at Sheffield Newspapers, on 0114 289 4500.
The Maynard’s director, Paul Downing, said: “Our ballroom is busy every weekend for
weddings, but is currently underutilised during the week and we are looking at
making better use of it by hosting a range of business and evening events. We are
delighted to be staging Sheffield Newspapers’ Fashion Show and we are happy to talk
to any other events organisers who are looking for a high quality and unusual venue
in stunning countryside.

”We are looking forward to the show and would encourage the public to come along to
support Macmillan Cancer. For those who think Grindleford is in the middle of
nowhere, check out thetrainline.com and you will be surprised to see that we are
just 8 minutes from Dore and only 13 minutes from Sheffield by train, giving you no
excuse not to come and every opportunity to enjoy some wine with your lunch!”

Sheffield Newspapers’ Melinda Gore, organiser of the fashion show, said: “The
fashion show at The Maynard will be a great opportunity for the up and coming
designers and boutiques of Sheffield to show off the best of South Yorkshire’s
Autumn and Winter ranges. We’re delighted to be taking the show to The Maynard which
is developing a great reputation as a top quality venue following its boutique hotel
refurbishment and the recent award of 2 AA rosettes for its restaurant.”
