Press Release Author: Jerri Shelton/SixStringCentral School of Music

Industry: Entertainment

Press Release Summary: Pacific Northwest Blues Legend Robbie Laws to Perform

Press Release Body: Portland, OR - Six String Central School of Music is celebrating
Halloween this year with a twist on the regular costume party everyone else has,
they will be having a musical jam session with local blues legend Robbie Laws and
other surprise performers. This will be a four-hour party on October 31 from 6 to
10 PM at 5516 SE Foster Rd. in Portland. The event will be filled with costumes,
trick-or-treating, rock and roll, and the blues.

A fixture on the Western blues circuit, Robbie Laws will be inviting other highly
talented performers to participate in this special event, the first annual Six
String Central Halloween Party and Jam Session. Also, many of the students of the
school will be performing, some of whom perform for the Blues in the Schools program
from the Cascade Blues Association.

Robbie Laws said, "I am on a constant journey educating new generations about the
blues and the importance of music, in general. Halloween parties are always great
occasions to get the interest of children and combining a blues jam session will
make this an extremely fun and educational event."

Laws and Jerri Shelton, executive director of the school founded Six String Central
School of Music a few years ago on Hawthorne Boulevard. It started as solely a
guitar school but has now branched into a full service music school with lessons
offered in piano, guitar, drums, vocals, bass, and many other instruments. Six
String Central is even now offering harmonica lessons by Franco Paletta of Franco
and the Stingers.

"The Halloween Party and Jam Session is going to be one of our hallmark events every
year. There is no admission fee and it is open to all ages. The point is to
celebrate the holiday with music. We are making incredible progress with the school
and want people to know how accessible a music education can be," said Shelton.

Six String Central is an active participant of the Blues in the Schools program in
coordination with the Cascade Blues Association. For more information about Six
